"All people, at any given moment, are doing the best they can.''- Marsha Linehan
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) that helps you accept your thoughts, feelings, and actions without judgement while also recognizing that these things may be inferring with positive change. The term ''Dialectical'' is defined as the acknowledgment that two different things can exist at once. CBT helps you to identify and change problematic patterns of thinking, feelings, and behaviors. DBT builds on that approach by acknowledging that change may be difficult for you because of the life experiences you've had. DBT is particularly helpful if you have a history of Trauma, struggle with addiction or relationship difficulties, or experience Depression or Anxiety. This form of counseling is centered on the idea that you are doing the best that you can in this moment. DBT inspires and empowers change by helping you manage difficult feelings and distressing thoughts in a functional way.
